Mindfulness and Christianity

I've written a bit about mindfulness in the past. At the suggestion of Dr Partridge, I first tried it in January 2011. I sort got a bit off track because I didn't carry on beyond week 2 (of a 4 week programme). To the credit of the Be Mindful Online team, their system highlighted that I wasn't undertaking my meditations so they reset my account back to Week 1.

This is the first post on mindfulness and Christianity. Some Christians shy away from mindfulness because of it's links with Buddhism, but mindfulness is similar to Christian contemplative practices. See the comments for interesting takes on Christians using mindfulness.

    I appreciated this post very much! Once I asked the cashier at Family Christian if they had any books on Christian meditation. “You KNOW this is a CHRISTIAN bookstore, right?” Yes, I did, and I was looking for guides on meditation on G-d’s word. It’s a Biblical practice we have lost. Thanks for bring this out for all to see :-)
