Depressed Christian – should true Christians never get depressed?

Martin Luther, John Bunyan, Mother Teresa (to name but a few) – all had bouts of depression.

Will Van Der Hart writes on Premier Mind & Soul website –

There are few moments when I feel genuinely ashamed to be associated to another Christian believer. However, as I watched Malcolm Bowden express his ‘Christian’ view on depression on 4Thought.TV this week I wanted the sofa to swallow me whole.

You can read his answer to Malcolm Bowden’s comments here:

Will concludes:

Lets be clear: Depressed Christian- You are a true Christian. God loves you. He is Good. He will never leave you. He will walk with you through the darkness even if you cannot feel his presence right now. He would want you to receive the best medical and psychological care. You are precious in his sight.
Blessings for the journey,
